Chicago sees first snow of season Monday

CHICAGO — It’s snowing in Chicago! Monday, Oct. 17 will officially go down as the first snow of the season, according to the National Weather Service.

The NWS reports the earliest first measurable snow in Chicago occurred on Oct. 12, 2006.

The Chicago area is experiencing December-like weather Monday, with blustery conditions and snow showers in some parts.

Mostly cloudy with rain and snow for some areas. Blustery and windy conditions. Winds: NW 15-20 G35. High: 41.

A Winter Weather Advisory has been issued for Porter and Newton counties in Northwest Indiana from 4 p.m. Monday to midnight.
